Shopping Without Waste: Our New Default
How better prep and clearer lists reduced overbuying and made weeknight cooking less stressful.
The main change was tightening the connection between the meal plan and the shopping list. When those two things drift apart, waste shows up fast.
We started grouping ingredients by use, not by aisle, and that made it easier to see what was already covered versus what still needed to be bought.
The result is fewer duplicate purchases, less produce left unused, and fewer nights where dinner feels like an improvisation challenge.
